Ford Credit Summer Intern 

Multiple exciting modernization and advanced technology projects for Ford Credit will be taking place in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Core Modernization (CM) domains.  These include applied research and execution in GenAI, LLM, AI/ML, Hybrid AI, data governance, and cloud-based transformation/migration of legacy systems and data stores.  Work will include investigating, experimenting with prototypes, and implementing advanced technologies and methodologies for our modernization and innovation initiatives.

Intern will be involved in all aspects of projects from research to brainstorming to prototyping to planning and finally to implementation and testing.

Responsibilities

Measurable objectives:

1.    Researching and describing latest cutting-edge technologies and efforts in the advanced technology space, including creation of a white paper describing all efforts, including applicability evaluation for the Ford Credit business portfolio.   Paper should reflect a gained understanding of the high complexity of related technologies and descriptions of adoption feasibility for each explored innovation/technology, including alternatives for further work.  Measurables will include quality and comprehensiveness of documentation.

2.    Conduct applied research in firewalled and cloud based applied research laboratories to be used for benchmarking and applicability testing of technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Core/Legacy technologies and subsequent transformations, and coding & testing tools. Measurables will include number and functional quality of components installed and tested.

3.    Create datasets, working models, and demos from existing data sources to support applied research and modernization efforts, and other technical big data from industry and Ford.   Ensure that data is high quality and identify opportunities for obtaining data from inter-portfolio and industry sources.  Measurables will include number of data sources identified and number and quality of models or transformations created.

4.    Participate in brainstorming sessions with IT and Business personnel.   Demonstrate skills of listening, learning, and sharing. Measurables will include quality and comprehensiveness of notes reflecting an understanding of the discussions.

Requirements

Qualifications
Required Skills:

•    College and/or work experience with medium/high IT concepts
•    Major/concentration in a computer science related domain (computer science, computational linguistics, cognitive psychology, music theory, etcetera)
•    Aptitude for complex IT research and brainstorming
•    Strong motivation to enjoy learning and creating
