What You Will Do
- Oversee the daily operations, preventative maintenance, renovation, and minor repair of assigned facilities, building equipment, and systems, including regular inspections for cleanliness, order, and overall condition.
- Oversee custodial services and grounds maintenance for assigned facilities and ensure all work performed meets Facilities Management standards.
- Supervise assigned BSW and Grounds staff, including reviewing overall staffing requirements with the Assistant Director as needed.
- Provide assistance and input to the Assistant Director for Alton & East St. Louis Operations, Facilities Management regarding administration, faculty, and staff needs, including feedback on prioritization and feasibility of requests.
- Design and implement safety training and activities for staff within assigned facilities and serve as the primary point of contact for Facilities Management emergencies or system failures.
- Ensure proper maintenance and organization of assigned work areas, storage areas, mechanical rooms, and custodial closets, including maintaining equipment and supply inventories.
- In collaboration with the Operating Engineer, develop and report on monthly and annual utility usage and required outages.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
- Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the categories below:
- Coursework in any field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
- Work experience having responsibility for the supervision, work assignments, and employees performing institutional housekeeping duties (such as a foreperson in institutional custodial operations).
- Coursework in any field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- Three (3) years (36 months) of work experience in the supervision and/or management of institutional housekeeping programs.

Illinois Residency Requirement: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.
