Career Advising & Program Development (40%)
- Provide one-on-one and group advising on career exploration, internship and job searches, resumes/CVs, cover letters, networking, interviewing, salary negotiation, and graduate/professional school preparation.
- Lead the design and planning of workshops, classroom presentations, and co-curricular programs that build career readiness across disciplines and degree levels, while collaborating with other career coaches to ensure consistency and quality.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of career resources (guides, templates, etc.) and ensure alignment and consistency across the website, Handshake, social media channels, collaborating with the coaching and operations and marketing teams on content creation and updates.
- Stay current on labor market trends and best practices in career services for diverse student populations, including international students and those pursuing STEM, business, social impact, and creative fields.
Team Management & Supervision (25%)
- Supervise and develop Assistant Directors of Career & Professional Development; set goals, provide coaching and feedback, and support professional growth.
- Coordinate ongoing training, knowledge-sharing, and protocols for the coaching team (e.g., advising frameworks, SOPs, workshop templates).
- Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate student career peer advisors; ensuring a high-quality drop-in experience.
Strategic Leadership (15%)
- Partner with the Executive Director to design and implement a comprehensive coaching strategy for undergraduate and graduate populations.
- Establish standards for advising quality, equity, and consistency across the coaching team; align services with NACE Career Readiness Competencies and institutional goals.
- Lead annual planning for coaching, programs, and resources; contribute to center-wide strategy, assessment, and reporting.
- Analyze advising trends, event engagement, and student outcomes to drive continuous improvement and inform resourcing.
Partnerships & Campus Integration (10%)
- Serve as the primary liaison to academic departments and faculty to embed career development in courses, curricula, and departmental programming.
- Lead and oversee collaboration with student clubs and organizations to co-create career programs and outreach initiatives that meet community needs; assign coaches to specific groups while directly advising a portfolio of student organizations.
- Partner with the Sr. Associate Director of Employer & Alumni Engagement to ensure students are aware of and connected to internships, jobs, mentorship programs, and alumni networks; lead efforts to promote signature events and recruiting opportunities across campus and through digital channels.
- Represent Career Connections Center at orientations, open houses, career fairs, and university events.
Data Assessment & Operations (10%)
- Use data to monitor utilization, equity of access, and outcomes; translate insights into actionable improvements.
- Contribute to annual and ad hoc reports; track progress on strategic goals and student success metrics.
- Uphold operational excellence across scheduling, communications, and service delivery; support systems/process improvements that streamline the student experience.
Job Requirements:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in counseling, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in career services, advising, or a related area with managerial experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage projects, and implement strategic initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse populations.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver effective workshops and programs.
- Knowledge of career development theory, job search strategies, and employment trends.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in higher education, counseling, or a related field.
- Familiarity with career platforms such as Handshake, Big Interview, and assessment tools (MBTI, Strong).
- Experience with data-informed decision-making and program assessment.
Additional Information:
Expected Hiring Range: $70,900 to $78,650

The compensation for this position will be determined based on factors that include available budget, internal equity, and the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related credentials. This range represents Clark University's good-faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting consistent with Clark's compensation philosophy and internal alignment.
