Description

This is a responsible position involving the enforcement of the county’s adopted building codes and related laws including review and approval of construction drawings, conducting comprehensive inspections of residential, commercial and industrial construction for code compliance.  

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a general equivalence diploma (GED) is required.  A minimum of 5 years of experience as a building inspector, engineer, architect, construction superintendent, builder or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must possess a valid Class D Tennessee drivers license. Must pass all required Building, Plumbing, and Mechanical examinations with-in one year from the date of hire.
