Description
About the roleAs a Cloud Resiliency Architect, you will make an impact by helping customers strengthen the reliability, continuity, and recoverability of their cloud environments. You will be a valued member of the delivery team and work collaboratively with technical stakeholders, operational leads, and cloud architecture specialists to assess risk, optimize recovery strategies, and improve resilience across critical workloads.
In this role, you will:
- Assess the resiliency posture of customer cloud environments from both technical and operational perspectives.
- Evaluate disaster recovery (DR) plans, business continuity (BC) strategies, and Major Incident Response Plans (MIRPs).
- Analyze cloud infrastructure, application dependencies, observability configurations, and failover capabilities.
- Review and enhance MIRPs, including escalation paths, communication plans, sequencing, and impact containment strategies.
- Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and single points of failure across workloads and operational processes.
- Expertise in designing high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) architectures in Microsoft Azure.
- Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure, Availability Zones, backup and recovery services, and monitoring/observability tools.
- Familiarity with cloud-native resiliency patterns and site reliability engineering (SRE) practices.
- Ability to assess or design Major Incident Response Plans (MIRPs) aligned to SLAs and business risk tolerances.
- Experience in business continuity planning, incident response coordination, and process maturity assessments.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills for both technical and executive audiences.
- Background in technical consulting or assessment-based project delivery.
- Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- ITIL Foundation
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- Experience contributing to or leading enterprise-wide MIRP and DR testing programs.
- Familiarity with operational resilience frameworks (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34, SOC 2 Type II).
- Experience supporting regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or government.
- Hands-on experience with Azure BCDR tools such as Azure Site Recovery, Backup Vaults, Automation, or Service Health.
- Knowledge of hybrid or multi-cloud environments and their resiliency implications.
- Exposure to chaos engineering or resilience testing tools.
- Experience integrating DR validation or backup checks into DevOps pipelines.
- Familiarity with incident simulation platforms, runbook automation, Microsoft Sentinel, or ServiceNow workflows.
- Preferred certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
- BC/DR certifications (CBCP, MBCI, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer)
- Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert
