- County Highway Engineer
Description
The incumbent serves as the County Highway Engineer, who is responsible for directing all public works projects as prescribed by statute.
DUTIES:
Through knowledge and ability to use accepted accounting and engineering principles and practices, and the knowledge of county government budgeting and taxing procedures.
Ability to direct and supervise others and provide leadership for employees, and effectively communicate with contractors, consultants, citizens, community leaders, and city, state, and federal officials during varied situations and circumstances.
Must meet all state qualifications requirements, including being a registered engineer licensed by the State of Indiana Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
Must be INDOT, Employee In Responsible Charge (ERC) certified, or have the ability to be certified through INDOT within 30 calendar days of employment.
Must have experience in highway engineering.
Requirements
A baccalaureate degree in engineering or equivalent training and experience will lead to a thorough understanding of engineering principles, methods, theories, and procedures.

Preferred a registered engineer licensed by the State of Indiana Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.

Preferred experience in highway engineering.
Must be bondable.
Must be a resident of Indiana.
