Data Engineer III
Perform data profiling and logical and/or physical data modelling to build new Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) designs and solutions. Develop, implement, and deploy ETL solutions to update data warehouse and datamarts. Maintain quality control, document technical specifications, and perform unit testing to ensure accuracy and quality of Business Intelligence (BI) data. Troubleshoot, debug, and diagnose ETL issues. Perform technical design, development, testing, and documentation of Data Warehouse and/or ETL projects. Provide production support and work with other IT team members and end users to resolve data refresh issues, including off-hours operational support when needed. Work with users, BI, and ERP teams to understand source system underlying architecture; and build ETL design and/or solutions. Perform performance tuning and enhancement of SQL and ETL processes and prepare related technical documentation. Meet with functional analysts or end users to gather and clarify requirements as needed to complete BI and/or DW projects. Develop and enhance BI reports or models, and provide support as needed. Work with Offshore team to coordinate development work and operational support. Keep abreast of latest ETL technologies and plan effective use. Implement new EDW and Cloud technologies to help evolve EDW architecture in efficiency and performance. Lead ETL tasks and activities related to BI projects; and assign or coordinate follow up on activities to meet ETL project timelines. Follow through and ensure proper closure of service request issues. Perform code reviews on ETL report changes where appropriate. Maintain appropriate skills needed for team growth in the skills matrix, determine areas requiring training, and mentor other data engineers in the BI Team. Coordinate with the DBA team on migration, configuration, and tuning of ETL codes. Assure execution of Standard Operating Procedures impacting the BI team. Continue to develop and assist in the promotion of the company's corporate culture environment, including working with other departments and company-wide to establish initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Electronics Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field and 5 years of experience building ETL designs and solutions; Building data warehouse systems in Medical device industry using Modern Data warehouse concepts, EDW and Data Lake/Cloud architecture; Working in SQL, writing Stored procedures and tuning SQL, using Oracle PL/SQL; Working in Cloud data integration; and Working with BI applications tools, such as Cognos.
