Are you a visionary leader with a passion for innovation and product excellence? We're looking for a bold and strategic Director of New Product Development to spearhead the creation and launch of cutting-edge products across our Global OEM and North America Appliance teams.
In this high-impact role, you will lead the full lifecycle of product development-from concept generation to market introduction-ensuring every product is positioned for success.
What You'll Do:
Strategic Leadership
- Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, competitive activities, and the regulatory landscape to support data-driven and strategic decision-making.
- Provide strategic direction and input to the Research Team to identify critical technology and capability gaps, supporting the development of the company's Technology Strategy and resource planning.
Tactical Leadership
- Manage, prioritize, and allocate resources to key growth initiatives within each business unit to ensure successful execution and measurable results.
- Assume ownership and maintain discipline in document control, the Engineering Change process, and the New Product Development Process.
- Provide oversight, guidance, and support to all business units, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational excellence.
- Directly lead the North America Appliance Business Unit, ensuring delivery on performance, quality, and timing commitments.
- Drive accountability for meeting customer commitments and achieving financial and operational objectives.
- Deliver quarterly updates to Senior Leadership on strategic and operational progress.
- Serve as a primary technical ambassador for the company, maintaining regular engagement with customers to strengthen relationships, understand emerging needs, and represent the company's technical capabilities and strategic direction.
Innovation
- Foster a culture of innovation within the New Product Development and Engineering organizations to drive continuous improvement and differentiation.
- Establish and maintain a competitive advantage through advanced engineering capabilities, innovative design, and customer-focused product development.
- Identify and address unmet customer needs, translating insights into actionable product opportunities.
- Build and manage a strong intellectual property (IP) portfolio to protect and enhance the company's technological leadership.
Collaboration
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, internal stakeholders, and external partners to ensure effective collaboration, alignment, and execution of business objectives
Continuous Improvement
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement.
- Lead and support cross-functional initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and overall business performance.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Promote a safe and compliant working environment by adhering to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Implement, communicate, and enforce safety protocols and best practices across all teams and operations.
Talent Development
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team capable of delivering on strategic and operational objectives.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and engaging work environment that supports professional growth, innovation, and career advancement.
What We are Looking For:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related science, Master's degree a plus.
- Minimum 10 years progressive experience leading new product design & development within the manufacturing industry or minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within water filtration/purification industry.
- Strong knowledge of Stage Gate processes and six sigma tools.
- Proven record of bringing innovative products to market successfully.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional and global teams.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and foster innovation in teams.
