Job Summary
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer supports Safari Circuits' proactive quality strategy by preventing defects, improving first-pass yield (FPY), and reducing nonconformances across incoming inspection, manufacturing, and final inspection. This role works cross-functionally to use data, risk-based thinking, and structured problem-solving to drive continuous improvement and ensure stable, capable processes.
Responsibilities Include:
- Support and provide qualityexpertisefor departmental and cross-functional activities
- Drive proactive defect prevention through PFMEA, control plans, SPC, and mistake-proofing
- Investigate internal and external nonconformances and lead effective root cause analysis
- Develop, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actions toeliminaterecurrence
- Support incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities through standardized inspection plans and guide sheets
- Partner with Manufacturing and Process Engineering to improve process capability and FPY
- Support new program development, including customer PPAP submissions and record maintenance
- Investigate and resolve customer quality concerns with a focus on systemic prevention
- Support supplier quality activities, including incoming NC analysis and supplier CAPA
- Administer and analyze Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) metrics
- Support the Quality Management System through quality risk assessments, audits, and data analysis
- Promote a continuousimprovementculture by encouraging early escalation and team-driven problem solving
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment; electronics manufacturing preferred
- Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement methods
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and SPC
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification orhigher preferred
- Experience with IPC standards (IPC-A-610 / IPC-A-600) preferred
