Description
We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Cloud Service Enablement and Management, you will be an experienced member of an agile team, initially supporting the Application Owner in a range of critical responsibilities. You will foster strong collaboration with engineering teams to design and deliver reliable, secure, and scalable technology products that enable key business functions and help achieve the firm's strategic goals.
Job responsibilities
- Understand and ensure conformance of software products, services, and solutions with firm-established risk and controls.
- Assist in managing the standards engineering and architecture library to ensure frameworks are up-to-date and compliant.
- Oversee the infrastructure platform's application tollgate review and compliance processes to maintain adherence to firm standards.
- Identify hidden security and risk problems and patterns in data, using these insights to drive improvements to security, risks, and controls.
- Contribute to cybersecurity and technical risk and controls engineering communities of practice and participates in events that explore new and emerging technologies.
- Maintain application owner services to streamline application profiling and control obligation management.
- Advise and guide development teams through critical lifecycle stages to ensure compliance with required controls.
- Manage resiliency management and analytics to support application stability, recovery planning, and performance monitoring.
- Add to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
This role works closely with the Application Owner, providing essential support to uphold governance, risk management, and operational excellence across application lifecycles.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
- 5+ years of practical experience in Control Procedures, Risk Management, Governance, and Cybersecurity.
- Solid experience with business analysis, troubleshooting technical findings related to control management, and attention to detail.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience in technical risk management and control procedures.
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
- Exposure to cloud technologies
