 Job Summary

Lead the manufacturing organizations responsible for operating a large fully integrated chemical and compounding operation in the USA and 2 distinct manufacturing assets in Argentina and Brazil.   Lead the strategy development to ensure the achievement of site EHSS, financial, employee and customer fulfillment deliverables consistent with SBU and Corporate Manufacturing goals.  Represent SABIC in the community with key government, community, and media contacts.

  • Role model SABIC's Values & SABIC Leadership Way,  effectively collaborating with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels seeking win-win solutions that demonstrate the company's values, ethics, policies, standards and successful business strategy delivery. 

 

  • Guide and lead multidisciplinary & multicultural site leadership teams to successfully deploy the day-to-day operations of each site's Manufacturing functions by providing expertise, encouraging teamwork & best practice sharing, and aligning work processes for continuous improvement that delivers against established performance standards and targets. 

 

  • Steward SABIC people processes for all organizations in direct reporting lines: develop strong talent pipelines that sustain organizational capability for each site and empower individuals with meaningful work and individual growth through experiences, exposure, & education.  Foster a diverse, equitable, & inclusive work climate that motivates and inspires an engaged workforce at all levels.  

 

  • Implements an optimum site manufacturing organization structure for all units in the site consistent with the SABIC Organization Development and Operational Effectiveness Strategy to ensure resources are optimally utilized and communications flow efficiently.  Manages staffing to meet changing business priorities. Implements all aspects of MEMS. Responsible for training, managing overtime and addresses employee concerns in the operation.

 

  • Champion Controllership: Manages spending to meet MFC and total cost budgets using all applicable standards & polices. Develops and resources productivity programs and projects.  Develops annual budget for the sites in collaboration with the Finance team.   Identify and realize opportunity for improvement of manufacturing efficiency through optimal use of capital investment.

 

  • Oversees the planning and execution of  multi year turnarounds in accordance with Outage Management work process, plant outages, minimizing cost & EHSS impacts and maximizing  production.

 

  • Ensure appropriate and qualified focal points for community and national, state/territory/province, and local governmental relations for all 3 sites.  Serve as the responsible person in charge for all environmental, health, safety & security certifications of compliance for all applicable permits on the USA site.

 

  • Contribute and engage as a member of several Americas and/or mfg.  SABIC leadership committees.  Serve as a senior member of the America's region manufacturing leadership team participating and contributing in the development of a manufacturing strategic plan that maximizes SABIC's short, medium and long  performance delivery (performance = SABIC values and leadership way +  business outcomes such as profitability and growth)


Requirements

What Matters to SABIC

  • BS Engineering Degree, Master’s Degree Preferred
  • Must be able to travel internationally up to 25% of the time and/or represent the company internally and externally at designated engagements occurring non-standard hours (example: weekends, evenings)
  • Minimum 12 years equivalency in manufacturing experience in chemicals, plastics, petrochemicals or closely related industry
  • Broad exposure to plant operations including chemical and compounding operations. Equivalency of 8 yrs managerial experience that includes significant experience at senior management level (leading other people leaders)
  • Demonstrated experience working  in multinational, multi-site team, prior experience with multinational people leadership is preferred
