- Teaching Faculty Position for Undergraduate Laboratories
Description
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Notre Dame seeks applicants for a full-time teaching faculty position with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. This position is a long-term renewable appointment. Responsibilities will be primarily in undergraduate general chemistry laboratories and will include coordinating multiple lab sections and managing teaching assistants. Successful candidates will be expected to assume leadership roles in the department’s undergraduate program, which is nationally recognized for teaching excellence.
Requirements
A preferred candidate will have experience and enthusiasm for undergraduate laboratory curriculum development and implementation. This faculty position will carry the title of Assistant, Associate, or Full Teaching Professor depending upon extent of prior experience. Preference will be given to candidates having a Ph.D. in chemistry (or related field) and an independent track record of teaching and working with teaching assistants in a laboratory environment at the college/university level. We seek candidates who have experience in educating students from a variety of backgrounds for success in STEM.
