Company History
Curtis Porter founded Innovative Werks in 2001 as an IT consulting firm that specialized in network design, software programming, and email and web hosting services for small businesses. Innovative Werks was incorporated in April of 2010. Mobile application development on the Android platform was also added to the company’s growing list of programming services. This business started off as a part-time endeavor that allow the founder to explore the IT industry while maintaining full-time employment as a Senior Field Engineer with General Electric (GE).
During his time at GE, Curtis Porter was the Technical Lead on numerous DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems for the utility, manufacturing, governmental sectors both domestically and internationally.
In 2016, Curtis Porter walked away from his 17-year career with GE to fully focus on growing Innovative Werks. With that decision, Innovative Werks could take advantage of Curtis Porter’s extensive engineering experience in the industrial and utility segments of the economy.
