(Sci-Tek), founded in 1996, provides a broad range of civil, environmental, and geotechnical engineering services in various markets including water and wastewater treatment and collection, aviation, transportation, education, housing, commercial development, healthcare and energy. Sci-Tek has completed more than 700 projects encompassing a broad range of challenges for public and private clients located in the Eastern United States from our Pittsburgh and Philadelphia offices. Since its founding in 1996, Sci-Tek Consultants, Inc. (Sci-Tek) has completed more than 700 projects encompassing a broad range of challenges. Private and public clients are serviced throughout the Eastern United States from our Pittsburgh and Philadelphia offices.
Among our 37 employees are engineers and geologists with professional registrations, experienced and certified environmental scientists and technicians, and specialists in various industries such as water and wastewater treatment and collection, aviation, transportation, education, housing, commercial development, healthcare, and energy.
Sci-Tek’s three fundamental practice areas — civil, environmental, and geotechnical —combine to offer clients a single source for answers that create a better world for all.
Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
SCI-TEK PROJECT EARNS AIA AWARD
A Sci-Tek project has received a Certificate of Merit from the Architects Institute of America, Pittsburgh Chapter, for design of renovations to the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Beechview Library Branch.
Working as a member of the design team for the project Sci-Tek provided site civil design services inclusive of unities coordination, construction plans and specifications, storm water management design, and facility permitting.
The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Beechview Branch, originally built in 1967, was in need of more space and an upgrade. The project completely transformed the building to give it a more recognizable and welcoming presence within the street face of the neighborhood along with reorganization of the services and spaces and to provide a sustainable design that is universally accessible.
The AIA judges noted that the renovation and addition to this library reinforce its position as part of neighborhood and the fabric of the community. The addition blends very nicely with the context of its neighborhood while the interiors are light and airy, inviting the users to think of the library spaces as an extension of their homes.
The project Architect was GBBN Architects. Other design team members included Whitney Bailey Cox & Magnani, LLC; Allen & Shariff. The contractor was Volpatt Construction.
