Spirit Environmental, LLC is a multimedia environmental consulting firm headquartered in Houston, Texas with a second office in Denver, Colorado and a presence in Austin, Texas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
As environmental consultants we help our client-partners navigate through complex environmental programs and regulations but pride ourselves on so much more than just the basics. Company History
In 2005, Jess McAngus and Brad Herrin wanted to form a different kind of environmental consulting firm – one not only built on excellent quality but also emphasizes personal relationships and a commitment to meaningful environmental work.
Though we started with only four air quality consultants, today Spirit consists of a diverse team from multiple engineering disciplines and environmental specialties, that works in a broad range of industries across multiple media. Our People are technically proficient, entrepreneurial, curious, driven, and above all, committed to Servant Leadership. We believe what makes us especially unique is the common goal to put others first in the pursuit of achieving the best possible solutions for our client-partners.
We invest in our people and provide regular opportunities for growth both professionally and personally at all stages of career development. In line with our core value of Continuous Improvement, we’ve adopted the mindset to always listen and learn. A culture centered around growth and understanding leads to well-rounded individuals, developed careers, and excellent services.
Jess unexpectedly passed away in 2016. Of our core values, he unapologetically favored Excellence. His legacy lives on in our commitment to Excellence, as we continue to set the “gold standard” in our industry.

Spirit has been a carbon-neutral company since 2019, has an internal Sustainability Management Plan, and pays for public transportation for Denver team members.
