Description
Associate Software Engineer (Upsite Clinical, Inc., Tiburon, CA): Collaborate with senior engineers and QA leads to design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for web and API applications; Perform manual and automated QA testing to ensure the reliability, performance, and functionality of software across multiple platforms; Collect and curate real-world data from clinical trial documents for use in QA scenarios, edge case testing, and regression validation; Contribute to the development of scalable full-stack applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies (e.g., Next.js, Java, Python etc.); Stay current with emerging development technologies and leverage intelligent coding tools (e.g., Cursor IDE) to enhance development efficiency; Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and UX/UI, to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software testing; Assist in debugging and troubleshooting issues across the software stack and contribute to root cause analysis and issue resolution; and Participate in code reviews and testing reviews, promoting best practices in both development and QA. 100% Remote Work Allowed. Base salary $90,000 with standard company benefits.
Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, or related field and 1 year of experience in a related occupation. Requires experience with: Using modern front-end and back-end technologies (Next.js, Java, Python); Designing and executing plans for AI models ensuring correct behavior across structured (tables), unstructured (text), and procedural (clinical trial protocols) data types; Collecting and curating real-world data from clinical trial documents for use in QA scenarios, edge case testing, and regression validation; Designing and implementing benchmarking pipelines for AI model validation, including the creation of evaluation datasets, definition of performance metrics and statistical methods; Identifying model failures and data inconsistencies by running controlled experiments and stress tests using curated or synthetic datasets; Refining data quality criteria and AI testing protocols; and Using: SQL, Java, cloud/VM infrastructure and technologies, Spring Boot, Spring Security, OAuth, and Version Control Systems.
