Job Summary
An organization is seeking an Automation / Cloud Services Specialist to support a tactical systems support program. This role focuses on implementing automation, managing cloud infrastructure, and supporting DevOps practices across complex IT environments, including both cloud and on-premises platforms.
What You Can Expect to Do:
Implement automation across infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, deployment, testing, and operations
Enhance infrastructure to support agile frameworks and automated management systems
Assess compliance with IT policies, standards, and procedures, and recommend improvements
Build automation for applications, networks, and services across development, testing, and production environments
Collaborate with infrastructure teams to automate processes, reduce technical debt, and optimize CI/CD pipelines
Support integration throughout the testing lifecycle with development and QA teams
Maintain automation scripts and configurations using version control tools (Git/GitLab)
Train operations teams on automation tools and processes
Configure and manage cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
Administer cloud services in on-premises environments (e.g., Azure Stack, Amazon Snow)
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in network and system administration
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Linux, Windows)
Experience using source control tools such as Git and GitLab/GitHub
Experience leading medium to large-scale IT or infrastructure projects
7+ years of experience in Infrastructure IT Operations
5+ years of experience in software automation and development
2+ years of scripting experience
Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I certification
Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation
Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure)
Experience with on-premises cloud technologies
Active Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
Experience in IT operations related to systems and network architecture, including AI/ML environments
Experience in DevOps or CI/CD environments
Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, containers, and Kubernetes
Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
Experience with Ansible (CLI and Automation Platform tools)
Python scripting experience, including API integrations (e.g., AWS, ServiceNow)
Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
Strong focus on quality assurance, debugging, and issue resolution
Excellent communication skills
