Description
EDG IncJobSummary:
The Drafter is responsible fordeveloping, creating and finalizing all phases of the drafting process based onsketches, past examples and information presented by the Engineer(s) and/or bythe Designer(s).
JobDuties and Responsibilities:
• Draft technical details and specifydimensions, materials, and procedures using drawings, rough sketches,specifications and calculations using AutoCad as directed by design teammembers.
• Create drawings using AutoCad as directed.
• Assist Lead Designer in obtaining informationin the field to complete drawings.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned. Incorporate drafting design standards asestablished by Company.
• Interface with project design team members atlocal and/or multiple Company offices.
• Interface with vendors to determine detailsassociated with the drafting effort.
• Incorporate data from applicable sources;specifically, sub-consultants such as surveyors into drawings.
• Support the project design team in printingand publishing project documents.
• Assist with project file structuremaintenance.
• Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Basicor Minimum Requirements
• Requires six (6) months to one (1) yearexperience (within the past two years);
• Associates Degree in Computer Aided Draftingand Design or an equivalent certificate program will be considered in lieu ofexperience provided the credential is recently attained (within the past twoyears);
• Postsecondary school training in drafting at atechnical institute/community college or vocational High Schooleducation/certification may be considered;
• Must be proficient in AutoCAD;
• Requires knowledge and ability to work with MSOffice Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access);
• Knowledge of drafting standards, mathematics,science, and engineering technology;
• Knowledge of traditional drafting techniques(if applicable where manual drafting and sketching are used in certainapplications);
• Ability to interact effectively with staff atall levels;
• Availability and the ability to work onmultiple projects simultaneously;
• Availability and ability to travel to clientsites on occasion;
• Availability and ability to work overtime asneeded based on project.
Preferred Qualifications
• Associates Degree in Computer Aided Draftingand Design or the equivalent strongly preferred;
• Experience gained in the upstream ordownstream oil and gas industry preferred;
• AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit and/or Advanced Steelexperience (on the job or exposure to software through course instruction) aplus.
AdditionalApplication Requirement
To beconsidered, candidates residing outside of commuting distance to the office arerequired to provide a cover letter regarding their intentions to relocate tothe local area and that the candidate understands that there will be norelocation assistance provided. Candidate outside of commuting distance to the office who do not providea cover letter will not be screened for the position. In addition, thecandidate's location must be easily identifiable either on submittaldocuments or in the candidate's registration in our ATS.
WorkingConditions:
• Work is primarily conducted in a non-smokingoffice environment.
• Interaction with other team members, as wellas supervisors and client personnel.
• May be required to travel out of town on aperiodic basis to obtain project field data or attend project meetings.
• Field duties may require outdoor work in aplant, facility or terminal environment.
• Working in plant and/or shop areas aroundproduction machinery with extreme noise levels.
• Must be able to wear safety equipment asrequired by the safety department for personal protection.
• May be at more than one job site in a day andmust be able to tolerate climate changes.
Physical Requirements (With orwithout Reasonable Accommodation):
• Must be able to lift and carry twenty (20)pounds;
• Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing orother communication capabilities which permits employee to communicateeffectively;
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time;
• Sufficient vision or other powers ofobservation which permits employee to conduct analysis and investigations;
• Sufficient manual dexterity which permit theemployee to perform routine office duties;
• Sufficient personal mobility and physicalreflexes to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off-sitelocations.
