Description
Loudoun Water, located in Ashburn VA is a public utility that provides water and wastewater service to customers in Loudoun County.
We are seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our Water Operations team. This role supports water supply, sustainability, and resiliency initiatives while helping maintain our strong partnerships across the region. You will collaborate cross-departmentally, contribute to studies and analyses that drive long-term water resource planning, and represent Loudoun Water in regional forums and technical discussions.
This position will play a vital role in advancing water supply program components, assisting with permit compliance, supporting reservoir and operational modeling, contributing to drought and water quality evaluations, and participating in research that improves system performance and resiliency. The Environmental Engineer will also support capital project planning, manage consultants and contractors, and engage with partner utilities, research institutions, and regulatory agencies.

Requirements
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree in engineering is preferred. At least four years of experience in water resources engineering with a utility, government agency, or similar organization preferred. Foundational knowledge of hydrology, limnology, modeling, reservoir management, water supply, and utility engineering. Eligibility for or licensure as a Professional Engineer in Virginia is preferred.
