DescriptionYou are technically skilled, results-driven, and committed to excellence? Join our international team in Côte d'Ivoire and contribute to delivering large-scale, high-impact projects as a Project Manager.
The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of construction activities on one or more project sites, ensuring execution in line with scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements. The role focuses on coordinating discipline-specific construction activities (e.g., civil, structural, MEP, finishing). The role involves detailed planning, site operations oversight, subcontractor coordination, and general issues resolution to guarantee smooth project progression. The Project Manager ensures project working plan execution, quality control, and progress reporting, while also contributing to logistics, cost tracking, and stakeholder engagement with support of the Project Director.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Execution & Planning
- Manage daily construction activities on-site, ensuring alignment with design specifications, schedule, budget, quality, and safety standards.
- Develop and maintain the detailed construction schedule, tracking progress and addressing delays proactively.
- Oversee on-site infrastructure and logistics, including layout, access, utilities, and storage, to support safe and efficient operations.
2. Subcontractor & Team Coordination
- Supervise subcontractors, site teams, and discipline-specific construction activities, ensuring adherence to productivity, budget, quality and safety targets.
- Coordinate the resolution of technical queries, clarifications, and design changes in coordination with the Project Director and/or the Production Director and the Engineering teams.
- Collaborate with HR and administrative teams to maintain site discipline, attendance, and workforce coordination.
Budget & Cost Control
- Monitor budget utilization and site expenses, reporting cost risks, variations, and potential financial impacts to the Project Director and/or the Production Director.
- Contribute to cost-optimization strategies and tactics defined jointly with the Project Director and/or Production Director.
4. Reporting & Communication
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Director and/or the Production Director, following established company procedures.
- Escalate project issues that significantly deviate from the plan to the Project Director and/or the Production Director for support and resolution.
- Defines, together with the Project Director and/or the Production Director, strategies to optimize production activity performance.
- Support the Project Director and/or the Production Director in external communications with Clients, authorities, and community stakeholders when required.
5. Change Management & Procurement Support
- Assist, when applicable, in the preparation, review, and negotiation of change orders, claims, and additional scopes of work.
- Track procurement delivery status, long-lead items, and critical materials in coordination with Procurement and site teams.
6. Quality, HSE & Compliance
- Enforce full compliance with HSE policies and procedures on-site.
- Ensure site documentation is accurate and updated, including progress reports, inspection records, permits, and timekeeping.
- Conduct and lead regular coordination meetings with contractors and internal teams to review status, address risks, and ensure alignment.
Requirements
Academic and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BAC+3) in Mechanical/Civil Engineering, Design, or a related field.
- At least 5 to 10 years of experience as a design and project engineering lead on construction projects (buildings or infrastructure).
- Previous experience as a project manager on the contractor side is an advantage.
- Strong results-oriented mindset, with solid leadership and ownership skills.
- Highly motivated and deeply committed.
- In-depth understanding of construction processes, as well as operational and project management principles and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, BIM).
- Aptitude and talent for managing contractual and project requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of legal, industry, and national standards and practices.
- Experience working in multicultural organizations.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey messages to clients, manufacturers, and the team.
- Ability to present to stakeholders and management.
- Precision and strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office, popular design software, and ERP systems.
