As a (Senior) AI / MLOps Engineer, you'll design the backbone of our AI ecosystem - turning advanced machine learning into tangible customer value. You'll collaborate across engineering and product to bring scalable, high-performing AI features into production and help shape the future of intelligent supply chains. Activities

• Lead our Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) processes , building and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps our AI systems reliable, scalable, and secure.
• Bridge the gap between AI engineering and business value by aligning technical initiatives with customer needs, supporting sales and product discussions, and driving measurable impact for our clients.
• Collaborate closely with our engineering and product team to design and implement advanced features for our AI-driven supply chain operating system and to ensure smooth integration of machine learning models and data pipelines into production systems .
• Guide and support the work on improving the accuracy, efficiency, and uncertainty estimation of our existing AI-based features and conduct rigorous testing to ensure their high quality and reliability.
• Contribute to the scalability, maintainability and core functionality of our AI solutions and be part of building new ones .
• Establish and uphold high standards in our engineering practices , tooling , and processes .

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in MLOps , including end-to-end machine learning lifecycle management and 5+ years of experience with natural language processing, and image processing techniques .
• Passionate about developing AI solutions , particularly in generative AI combined with OCR and strong customer centric thinking , in order to prioritize the generated customer value as high as the quality of the cutting-edge solutions.
• Proficiency in programming languages used in AI development, such as Azure and Python , and familiarity with AI frameworks and libraries .
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, reusable, and well-tested code.
• Leadership experience, either technical or disciplinary, is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for tackling challenging customer issues.
• Fluency in English with strong reading comprehension in German (B2 level or higher) required.

About the Company

Company History:
VESTIGAS was born out of the founders' deep-rooted experience in the construction sector, where they observed the low level of digitalization of supply chains in this industry for > 5 years. Building on this insight, the founders set up their own consultancy, which focused exclusively on the construction sector for five years. Based on their expertise, they initiated a scientific project within their alma mater at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), in collaboration with seven industry partners. This project led to the development of a prototype for VESTIGAS - and we are still grateful for the incredibly feedback of the industry to it.

Vision and Ambitions:
What began as a concept to digitize delivery notes evolved into a grander vision: VESTIGAS envisioned transforming the entire construction supply chain into a digital, automated, and transparent ecosystem. The result was the creation of a groundbreaking Supply Chain Operating System for Construction , connecting all stakeholders within the construction supply chain. VESTIGAS developed an independent, open cloud platform, allowing seamless integration through APIs. This open system concept enables any application or frontend, whether developed by VESTIGAS or third parties, to interact with every part of the system.

Milestones and Achievements:
By 2024, VESTIGAS is processing thousands of deliveries daily with a Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) exceeding €30 million per month. The platform welcomed 10 of the top 20 construction companies and 14 of the top 20 suppliers in the DACH region already. We are supporting the biggest construction projects in Germany (e.g. like the 2nd Stammstrecke München) and as a result, our team has almost doubled in the last year.

We have raised a seven figure funding round and are the winner of awards such as the Bundesaward für Digitale Innovationen and the German Proptech Award.

Tech Stack
Our backend is mostly build on Python, a microservice architecture and Couchbase as our core database. In our WebApp we utilize React, while our mobile app is build on Flutter.

Team
VESTIGAS was founded by Julian & Paul (built a consultancy in the construction industry and before that, consulted for firms such as Audi, Microsoft and T-Systems), Nicolas (first employee at Applied AI of UnternehmerTUM and AI expert) and Yannick (IT-Security specialist and previously at Flixbus and Celonis). We are now 40 in the team and range from construction industry veterans over sales pros to our incredible techies, who build the backbone of what we do.
