Description
SynopsisThis role reports to the Value Stream Lead. The Senior Delivery Manager will oversee a complex portfolio of initiatives, including a mix of agile and waterfall deliveries. In partnership with the product team they will be responsible for the end to end delivery of projects within their portfolio from the planning and requirements phase to project delivery and closure, and when acting as a Release Train Engineer they will be responsible for facilitating, guiding and overseeing the management of all Agile Release Train (ART) events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value.
ACCOUNTABILITY, Responsible for the on time and on budget delivery of complex projects and programs, within agreed scope and quality measures• Manage, track, and report the progress of the Agile Release Train(s). Ensure stakeholders receive continuous updates• Responsible for the benefits realisation of all projects, and the flow of value through the ART using tools and kanbans• Develop, maintain and communicate the overall project or program plan, and annual calendars for Iterations Program Increments (PIs)• Lead the project team in scoping activities to identify, capture and analyse requirements, and work with the Product team to ensure clear alignment with key business drivers.•
Accountabilities
Own the stakeholder management plan for waterfall projects• Coordinate and facilitate PI Planning events, and for waterfall projects manage scope and change control, ensuring projects and programs are delivered on time, within budget and to agree quality measures• Proactively manage financials and work with the Strategic Supplier & Cost Optimisation Lead to drive efficiencies• Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, dependences and assumptions, and support the team• Work with the appropriate teams in DTI to effectively manage project resourcing and commercials including forecasting, time management and invoicing. Understand and operate within Lean Budgets and adhere to the budget guardrails• Report on the status of delivery using agreed reporting metrics• Work with the PMO to ensure alignment with governance, best practices, standards and processes• Own the resourcing of projects that will be delivered through modern waterfall and scaled agile• Facilitate periodic synchronisation meetings, feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, and regular system and solution demos
Education & Experience
10+ years of experience in managing large, complex, and cross-functional projects, programs and portfolios., including time spent as a Release Train Engineer, or in an end to end agile process delivery
• Airline industry experience is beneficial
• Certification is Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE 2 is mandatory, as is Certification in Scrum Master CSM or SAFe Release Train Engineer
• Strong experience in executing PI planning events and coordinating multiple Agile Release Trains (ART)
• Deep experience in managing multiple large-scale technology projects in both Agile and waterfall project management methodologies and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment

• Knowledge of project, program and portfolio management practices, following agile methodologies, as well as a good understanding of product management principles
